Guest Experience Ambassador

About the role

The Guest Experience Ambassador ensures seamless service for guests at Ocean Hotels Barbados, acting as the primary point of contact throughout their stay. The role combines personalized welcome, in‑room assistance, and coordination with hotel departments to deliver AAA 5‑Diamond and LQA standards.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests on arrival, customize check‑in, offer welcome drinks and itinerary recommendations.
• Anticipate and fulfill guest preferences, allergies, and special requests, including in‑room dining, beach service, and errands.
• Coordinate with housekeeping and the In‑Room Dining team to ensure timely room cleaning and service delivery.
• Manage the cash float, exchange foreign currency, and process credit‑card authorizations and guest folio billing in the PMS.
• Arrange activities, car hire, and local experiences, preparing special‑occasion items such as treats, wines, or vouchers.
• Handle guest complaints, feedback, and follow‑up, escalating to the Front‑of‑House Manager when needed.
• Oversee checkout procedures, settle accounts, and provide a courteous farewell.

Required profile

• Strong commitment to delivering extraordinary, guest‑oriented service in line with AAA 5‑Diamond and LQA benchmarks.
• Excellent knowledge of wine, spirits, and specialty food offerings.
• Ability to work collaboratively with housekeeping, dining, and reservations teams.
• Proficiency in handling cash, foreign‑currency exchange, and property‑management system (PMS) billing.
• Flexible, creative mindset with the capacity to anticipate and resolve guest needs promptly.
