Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will join GM Group Inc. in Saint James, Barbados, working full‑time on‑site. This position leads the general ledger function, prepares financial statements and ensures accurate month‑end and year‑end close processes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage general ledger activities and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Prepare, review and present financial statements.
• Oversee month‑end and year‑end closing, including account reconciliations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow monitoring.
• Assist internal and external audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Improve internal controls and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Provide financial insights to management and mentor junior accounting staff.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with general ledger management, reconciliations, month‑end/year‑end close and audit preparation.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, plus advanced spreadsheet and financial analysis tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and a professional certification (CPA, ACCA) is mandatory.
• Several years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a senior or lead role.
