About the role

The Managing Editor will lead the daily news operation, ensuring editorial consistency and excellence across all desks, formats, and platforms. This senior position works closely with senior management to shape the editorial agenda, tone, and long‑term strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee editorial workflow, scheduling, assignments, and production timelines.
• Develop and maintain the editorial calendar, meeting deadlines and publishing timely content.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary newsroom team.
• Edit news across formats, refining voice, clarity, and impact.
• Review and approve sensitive or investigative pieces before publication.
• Coordinate with creative, digital, IT, and marketing teams to maximize story reach.
• Manage editorial staffing, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Ensure all content meets accuracy, legal, and ethical standards.
• Provide regular performance reports and contribute to strategic planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field, or at least five years of relevant experience.
• Proven track record leading a news team in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
• Strong editorial judgment, decision‑making, and understanding of journalistic ethics.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure, adapt to rapid news developments, and meet tight deadlines.
