Group Financial Controller – Hospitality Sector

About the role

The Group Financial Controller will lead the finance function for a hotel portfolio, ensuring accurate reporting, robust controls, and strategic financial guidance. Reporting to senior management, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of financial activities across the property.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day finance operations, prepare and review monthly financial statements, management accounts and variance analyses.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and produce monthly and annual forecasts in collaboration with the General Manager and department heads.
• Oversee revenue control for rooms, food & beverage, events and other income streams, ensuring daily revenue reports are accurate and reconciled.
• Supervise accounts receivable and payable, monitor cash flow, banking activities and petty‑cash handling.
• Develop and maintain internal financial policies, procedures and controls, and ensure compliance with Barbados legislation.
• Coordinate external audits, tax filings and regulatory reporting, liaising with auditors and tax advisors.
• Provide payroll accounting support, ensuring statutory deductions and obligations are met.
• Lead and develop the finance team, managing staffing, workflow and performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
• Extensive experience in hotel or hospitality finance, preferably in a senior controller or similar role.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial results and recommend corrective actions.
• Excellent knowledge of local accounting standards and tax regulations.
