Communications Internship in Bridgetown, Barbados

About the role

The Communications Intern will support the World Food Programme Caribbean office in strengthening internal and external communications, enhancing visibility and stakeholder engagement, and improving knowledge management practices. The role involves creating visual and digital content, assisting with communication materials, and contributing to advocacy campaigns.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and design visual content such as graphics, infographics, presentations, and flyers.
• Assist with drafting and editing communication materials.
• Support branding consistency across all communications.
• Create short videos, images and infographics to showcase WFP’s work.
• Support planning and implementation of communications and advocacy campaigns.
• Capture, document and disseminate lessons learned, good practices and success stories.
• Assist in organizing and maintaining knowledge‑management systems and repositories.

Required profile

• Experience in communications, graphic design, digital content creation or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
• Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Social media management and content development for digital platforms.
• Basic video editing software.
