Accounting Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Accounting Assistant to join our growing finance team. You will support the preparation of management accounts, maintain asset records and ensure smooth day‑to‑day accounting operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare reports used in the compilation of monthly Management Accounts.
• Maintain fixed asset records, including additions and disposals.
• Reconcile key Balance Sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
• Perform monthly expenditure variance analyses against budget and report findings.
• Execute daily bank reconciliations.
• Prepare audit schedules as required.
• Maintain Finished Goods and Work‑in‑Progress records.
• Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns.
• Serve as primary backup for Accounting Clerks and cover critical functions during absences.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least three years of accounting experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication and time‑management skills.
• Computer literate with a working knowledge of accounting packages.
• One to two years of auditing experience is an asset.
