Communications Intern – Barbados

About the role

The Communications Intern will support the WFP Caribbean office in strengthening both internal and external communications. The role focuses on enhancing visibility, stakeholder engagement and improving knowledge‑management practices through creative visual and digital content.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and design visual content such as graphics, infographics, presentations and flyers.
• Assist in drafting, editing and ensuring branding consistency across all communication materials.
• Create short videos, images and infographics to illustrate WFP’s work.
• Support the planning and implementation of communications and advocacy campaigns.
• Capture, document and disseminate lessons learned, good practices and success stories.
• Maintain knowledge‑management systems and repositories to improve information accessibility.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Experience or academic background in communications, graphic design, digital content creation or a related field.
• Proficiency with graphic‑design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with social‑media management and content development for digital platforms.
• Basic understanding of knowledge‑management and information‑organization practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
